  Love bebes the food is simple and good, the staff efficient and polite mostly. My little one loves the milkshakes and the homemade Dorset Apple cake is the best I've tasted

  I use to be a frequent user of this cafe, spending up to forty pounds a week there, but alas no more. I have no criticism of the food, which is basically ok, if you like plain simple fare, though its a little over priced, but you have to consider the area where its located, which is quite prosporous, a smilar cafe in a less prosporous area, would be cheaper, you charge what the local customers are willing to pay, that iis a simple rule of business. No, my gripe, is with the quality of service in the cafe, which apart from one or two exceptions, is not good. I often feel the cafe is run chiefly for the benefit of the waitresses (never waiter's, though I have seen many a young lad come in asking for a job), with the customers coming second. One particular waitress, is so off hand and rude, she would make Basil Faulty seem a model of politness in comparrison, on several occassions I have actually witnessed this waitress, throwing the pen across the serving desk, in full view of the customers, because she was just feeling fed up that day. The owner often witnesses her off hand attitude, but does not seem to mind it. the archilles heel for me, was on the 2nd January this year (a bank holiday), I entered the cafe at 2.10pm, it said on the door, it was open until 3.00pm and was just about to sit at a table (and there were quite a number of other people in the cafe) when I was told by a waitress, we are closed now, I pointed out, that on the door you said you close at 3.00pm, she was quite apologitic and a bit embarrassed , but the other waitress, which I mentioned above, came out and very rudly, yelled at me, we're closed, and with a look on her face, which said, clear off, and up to that time I had been going to the cafe everyday for over four years. I would like, actually to know more about the law on the opening and closing times of shops and cafes. Do they have to comply with the hours that they display on the door, so I will be getting in contact with trading standards over this.

  An excellent cafe in the center of Hythe, Hampshire. Just a stones throw from the ferry and the shopping precinct. Good quality food - always freshly cooked - and a warm friendly family atmosphere. His all-day breakfasts are superb! I would thoroughly recommend.
